Prom is one of the most anticipated events for seniors in high school. It’s a chance to bid farewell to their high school years and welcome new beginnings. Prom themes are an essential subject for most Pembroke Pines Charter High School students, considering it could make or break their night. Here is what the PPCHS Class of 2026 has to say:
“A prom theme I would be excited about is La La Land. I really love that movie and the whole vibe it comes with. I think a prom theme that everyone would enjoy would be a royal one, as it’s a classic theme that everyone would probably like. Honestly, a Greek-themed prom would probably not make me want to go, as it’s more Roman, and I’m not really a big fan of that one.” – Haley Bauer, senior
“I would be super excited if we had a masquerade-themed prom. I can’t speak for everyone, but I feel that many people would really enjoy that theme. I honestly don’t really think there is a bad theme that would make me not want to go. I think it would be fun, regardless of the theme. I have seen quite a lot of Hollywood-themed ones and think it’s a bit overused. However, no theme is really all that bad in my opinion because you have to make it your own.” – Sjahnaz Buth, senior
“The La La Land theme sounds the most exciting to me, and others would heavily appreciate the night under the stars. In my opinion, prom themes do matter, but people will still attend regardless.” – Valentina Gutierrez, senior
“The masquerade theme sounds exciting since it’s never been done before, thanks to the masks, but I feel like the administration wouldn’t like this idea much because people’s faces would be hidden. I feel like if the theme were to be La La Land, it would make the experience less enjoyable for others.”– Angelika Campos, senior
“A haunted theme sounds like a great idea to me, and others may be interested in something like a royal theme. A theme I think would not be enjoyed is a masquerade, as it feels quite cheesy or overused. A significant reason people attend prom is to dress up according to the theme, which is why picking prom themes is such a big deal.”– George Reynoso, senior
“A prom theme that excites me is La La Land, and I feel that if the student council doesn’t choose this theme, they’ll receive some backlash from other students. The Great Gatsby theme may sound cheesy, but prom themes do matter because if it’s a bad theme, some people might not want to attend.”– Caitlin Capiro, senior
“I think out of the options given, The Great Gatsby sounds the most exciting. A theme that everyone would enjoy would be The Great Gatsby or La La Land. The starry night theme would likely turn some students off, as it’s quite overused. Prom themes do matter since it’s an important night, and so does the environment that surrounds you.” – Eva-Sofia Hanson, senior
“La La Land sounds like an exciting theme that everyone else, including me, would enjoy because it sounds fun even though I haven’t watched the movie. Night Under the Stars is heavily overused, so I feel like that wouldn’t be the best option for this year’s theme.” – Roman Hughes, senior
