Mission statement: With this work, I wanted to explore the idea of one being reborn from spiritual decay. Through the exaggerated expressionism established the main subject (being myself), I attempted to display a very dark and eerie tone within the piece that portrays the pain and anguish of dying to one’s own flesh, a breaking away from old ways and temptations that eventually leads to better habits and spiritual clarity.
