The Claw: Week 36

Welcome back, Jaguars! Thank you for tuning in to week thirty-six of The Claw spring sports edition. Last week was an eventful one, as many of our Jaguar athletic programs competed in several games. Let’s get straight into last week’s athletic report.

 

Claws out: Lady Jags softball

Last week, the Lady Jags varsity softball team went 2-0 as they competed in the district tournament. First, they faced off against Varella on Tuesday, April 28, and won 20-0. Then, they competed in the finals against Mater Academy Charter and left with a Jaguar victory of 20-0.

They currently stand with a record of 18-8, and this week they are scheduled to compete in regional quarterfinals at home against the Heritage Panthers on Thursday, May 7, @7 pm.

 

Jaguars’ varsity baseball swinging through the season

Last week, the Jaguars baseball team went 1-2 as they competed in the regional semifinals against Archbishop McCarthy on Friday, May 1 and 2. They won the first game 1-0, lost the second game 1-11, and lost the third game 3-9.

The Jaguars have concluded their season and hold a record of 14-16.

 

Jaguars track sprinting into the season

Last week, the Jaguars track team competed in regionals at Ansin Sports Complex on Saturday, May 2. 

This week, the Jaguars compete in states on Friday, May 8, in Jacksonville.

 

Jaguars boys’ volleyball: claws in the net

Last week, the Jaguars boys’ volleyball team competed in the regional quarterfinals at home against Mater Academy Charter on Thursday, April 30, and won 3-2.

They currently hold a record of 14-6 and are scheduled to compete in the regional semifinals at home against Belen Jesuit on Tuesday, May 5, @6 pm.
