As a final act of kindness before break, Pembroke Pines Charter High School’s (PPCHS) CHAT Newspaper students walked through the halls, handing out sweets and flowers to show their appreciation during the last week before Thanksgiving break.
The student journalists shared gifts with their friends and strangers, hoping to spread a little kindness through a small gesture before everyone left for the holidays. When the final bell of the school day rang, those gestures sent the students into their break feeling recognized and appreciated.
The CHAT’s main goal was to remind everyone on campus that their school is united. Not only is PPCHS a place of education, but it is also a place built on connection and compassion. Since Thanksgiving is all about gratitude and unity, the CHAT used this perfect opportunity to spread gratitude throughout the entire school, not only recognizing students, but administration as well.
After weeks of testing, homework, and early mornings, students, teachers, and administrators were more than ready for the upcoming break, counting down the days until the final day when they could go home and have a week to themselves. Wanting to share that gracious spirit of thanksgiving, the CHAT thought it would be a wonderful idea to show their appreciation to those around campus as they patiently waited for Friday to come.
Now that Thanksgiving day has finally arrived, The CHAT is here to remind every single one of our students and administration that we are grateful for them. PPCHS has become a place that so many people call home, and it is all thanks to the students and staff who make it possible.
We are thankful for you. Happy Thanksgiving, Jags!
