As soon as the whistle blows, she becomes a streak of speed running up the field, a forward whose swiftness leaves defenders scrambling. The relentless pace and automatic goal-scoring has led senior Sierra St. Surin to be nominated for Jaguar of the week, November 10-14.
St. Surin was a part of the Lady Jags soccer team during her freshman and sophomore years, scoring 3 goals and recording 5 assists during that time. After not playing her junior year, she has returned this year for her senior year and has shown the Lady Jags what they were missing last season.
Being part of the Lady Jags soccer team is a crucial part of her life, as St. Surin comments that “playing with people [she is] close to and getting to represent Pines Charter with them” is one of her favorite parts of her high school experience.
Taking her talents outside of high school soccer, St. Surin has played for travel teams such as West Pines United and FC Prime. St. Surin adds that her favorite part of the sport is the fact that “[she’s] free to express [her]self” and that she “loves being on the field.”
The Lady Jags faced off against Cooper City on November 4 and won the game with a final score of 1-0, with the goal being scored by St. Surin. This goal led to the Lady Jags on a winning streak to start off the 2025-2026 season. St. Surin noted that “scoring the goal felt great, and it lifted the whole team’s spirit.”
However, she did not stop there. She continued to show her prowess with two assists against the Lady Jags’ game against Nova High School on November 12 as they won 8-0. St. Surin continues to leave her mark on the field at Charter and make sure that her story is not done yet. This upcoming week, the Lady Jags face off against powerhouse schools such as Marjory Stoneman Douglas on November 17 and Cypress Bay High School on November 20, as St. Surin continues to dominate.
