A variety of cars began to arrive at the first-ever car show held by Pembroke Pines Charter High School’s (PPCHS) Student Government Association (SGA). The cars started their engines and lifted their hoods, all while excitedly waiting for all the car lovers to stop by. Soon, the parking lot had been filled with cars from all over the world, with their very own story to tell.

This was an exciting night for not only the students at Pines Charter but also the families and friends involved. From entertainment like DJing music to varieties of incredible food trucks, the car show turned out to be a complete success. SGA partnered with ‘Wheelsnrides Cruise-in Show’ for this event, which had posted several advertisements and posts to help spread recognition for the event.
“I thought the car show was fantastic. It brought the community together and some of our students as well. I believe the biggest thing was how it collected the car community. And that’s what the community is about, bringing everyone together,” PPCHS Behavioral Specialist and car fan Dan Capiro states.
The car show had been organized and held on Sunday, March 1st, with the expectation of bringing excitement and community to the school. Which is exactly what was brought, with a whopping number of 150 cars.
“This event was very fun, and it was nice to see all the cool cars and hang out with the people around us. And our SGA members made sure to walk around and make sure people were having a good time,” junior and SGA member Alexander Rivera comments.
As the night went on, there were several sponsors that showed up to not only represent the community but also their company. Including a big thank you to the following sponsors who made this event possible: SOCAR, AutoPro Detailing, O’Reilly Auto Parts, 954 Mufflers, Highline Styling, and Flamingo Supermarket.
Being the first car show ever held by PPCHS, the event turned out to be an unforgettable experience for everyone involved. Students, staff, and visitors came together to show their school spirit and teamwork towards raising funds for the school.

From the variety of unique cars to the energy brought by SGA and food vendors, the event created a strong sense of community.
Most importantly, the success of this first-ever car show set a strong foundation for the future to come. With the PPCHS car show, this is no longer just a one-time thing. It is the start of a new tradition that will continue to grow and bring others together, creating memories beyond the classroom.
