A sweet taste to the Jaguars, yet a bitter one to their opponents, the hunt for victory begins at the den for the boys’ volleyball team. After ending last season with a historic run and revamping the program, ending with a 19-5 final record, the Jaguars boys’ volleyball team is back on the court for the 2025-26 season.
Senior Godly Thomas reflects on their last season, “Our team started strong, going 19–5, and we won our first-ever district title. When we reached regionals, we did not play to our full potential, which ended our season. The biggest lesson was that every game matters.”

Last season, only two players graduated, so the majority of the team is returning. Since the game is based on high speed and intensity, all players are similar in this regard, having gained knowledge from last season and focusing heavily on communication and teamwork.
Building on the fact that this is a new season, there are many new additions to the team, most of them being underclassmen and middle schoolers.
During the month they had to practice before the season, the Jaguars used every moment they had to gain new experiences. This helped them make adjustments as they learned from their peers and coaches.

The practices focused heavily on improving consistency in basic volleyball skills. Practicing passing, setting, and serving every day to improve their in-game performance. The practice of basic skills can also assist with the removal of simple mistakes during games.
Communication during games is the Jaguars second major concern for the upcoming season. Volleyball is a game that requires players to think quickly and respond immediately during each play. Improved communication skills will allow the team to remain calm during critical moments.
The team also aims to develop better chemistry during the upcoming season, as the players are aiming to spend more time together. Doing this by practicing together outside of high school ball. This allows them to become more familiar with each other’s playing style as well as get to know one another on a deeper level.
The Jaguars main goal this season is going far in the playoffs as they have been rebuilding their program. All of these factors are an attempt at this. Junior captain Adrian Navvaro is making sure of this with his team as he leads them throughout the season.
“Even though we have fallen short in some of our games, I am confident that we will bounce back in the playoffs. We have been putting in the work, and will continue to reap the benefits through playing our game.”
