Manon from Katseye takes an indefinite hiatus
As of Feb. 20th, HYBE and Geffen announced Manon Bannerman from the global girl group ‘Katseye’ is taking a hiatus to focus on her health and well-being. With Manon as one of the most popular members, this brings significant discourse and backlash.
After Manon released her own statement, ensuring fans that she’s healthy, chaos ensued. Fans, or ‘EYEKONS,’ took to social media to show immense support and create hashtags in solidarity.
As a result, situations from the past come to light that showcase Manon as being treated unfairly, and delve deep into the topic of black members from music groups being treated differently from their peers.
Black female singers who have undergone similar experiences, such as Fifth Harmony’s Normani and Little Mix’s Leigh-Anne Pinnock, have shown support for Manon.
Tom Holland and Zendaya are officially married, Law Roach confirms
As one of Hollywood’s favorite couples, Tom Holland and Zendaya Coleman have created a lot of buzz regarding their recent alleged marriage. Without making any statements, the couple confirmed their engagement in January 2025, when Zendaya arrived at the 2025 Golden Globes wearing an engagement ring.
As an extremely private couple, most intimate news about them comes from Zendaya’s trusted stylist since her teens, Law Roach. She revealed the secret wedding at the 2026 Actor Awards by saying, “The wedding happened already. You missed it.” This is yet to be confirmed by the couple themselves, but Zendaya has been seen wearing a wedding band in promotional photos for her upcoming movie, The Drama, with co-star Robert Pattinson.
Sophomore Brianna Guerra is elated by this sharing, “I know [their marriage] hasn’t been confirmed, but I really hope that they’re married already.”
Tame Impala’s ‘Deadbeat’ tour set to start soon
On Feb. 12th, Tame Impala announced his North American Tour, “Deadbeat,” to start in the summer. The psychedelic rock singer and his band are scheduled to perform in 19 cities in the United States and Canada.
The excitement for Impala’s tour only seemed to grow when, in his announcement video, it was revealed that pop-rock singers Djo and Dominic Fike will be joining him as openers. Djo will open for the first half of the tour, and Fike will finish off in the second. The tour will start in July in Miami and run through Houston in September.
Sophomore Chloe Chantrelle is excited by the news, “I love all these artists so much, it made me want to go to the tour even more.”
New Amazon Prime thriller, ‘56 Days’, releases
56 Days, released Feb. 18th on Amazon Prime Video, has gained much traction. The eight-episode limited series is based on a novel of the same name written by Catherine Ryan Howard.
The show follows Ciara, portrayed by Dove Cameron, and Oliver, played by Avan Jogia, a couple who meet in a supermarket and start an ‘intense’ relationship. The story takes a deep turn when a viciously murdered body turns up in their apartment, 56 days after the start of their relationship.
The story unravels into a fiery mystery that forces the couple to reconstruct their relationship and reveal secrets and lies that they kept close to their chest.
