The Seattle Seahawks captured the Lombardi Trophy on Sunday, February 8, with a 29-13 victory over the New England Patriots in Super Bowl LX at Levi’s Stadium. In a game defined by discipline and defensive dominance, Seattle capitalized on key turnovers and pulled away in the fourth quarter to secure the championship.
The Seahawks built a steady lead against the Patriots early, who struggled to keep the ball throughout the first half, going 9-0 with all points coming from kicker Jason Myers.
“The kicker was most definitely the most valuable player- every time Seattle needed points, he delivered. The reliability in this important game changes everything,” notes junior Tyrus Williams.
Then halftime appeared, and Bad Bunny brought a burst of energy into the stadium with flashing lights, elaborate choreography, and a mix of chart-topping hits. Social media lit up as viewers reacted to surprise guest appearances such as Cardi B, Alix Earle, Pedro Pascal, Lady Gaga, and even Ricky Martin.
“The halftime show to me was even better than the game, as it told an even bigger message within the performance. I could not stop dancing and singing with my family,” junior Chloe Shuch expresses.
In the fourth quarter, an interception that was returned for a touchdown by the Seahawks shifted the momentum completely for the team. While the Patriots mounted a brief comeback attempt with two fourth-quarter touchdowns and three total turnovers, the stress of performing on the biggest stage got to the team, and they could not catch up.
“I am so happy that Seattle won, as the Patriots have been winning way too many games, and I feel it was time for their season to come to an end,” explains junior Addison Palelis.
Seattle’s balanced offensive attacks and mistake-free football made the difference in the game. They controlled the clock and relied on a powerful rushing performance to keep the Patriots’ defense on the field.
Meanwhile, New England’s offense showed flashes of explosiveness, yet they struggled with consistency under pressure. In the end, this was the deciding factor for the game, allowing Seattle to clinch the lead and the trophy for Super Bowl LX.
