The recently released Peacock series, All Her Fault, has become an instant must-watch in many households. Some fans have proclaimed it to be one of the best mysteries in the media industry, and as a viewer, I definitely agree.
The story is based on the book All Her Fault by Andrea Mara. Centering around a family affair, the Irvines are practically made of money and happy at that. Financially stable, a healthy marriage, and a kid full of joy. What more could you need? However, everything went south when Marissa Irvine’s son, Milo, went missing after a playdate.
Initially, I didn’t think that the show was going to be anything special. I figured the plot would be like any other ordinary kidnapping story. However, that was not the case at all. After the end of the first episode, the cliffhanger had me hooked, elevating my suspense and leading me to binge the entire season.
About halfway through the show, the producers already reveal Milo’s location. His classmate’s nanny, Carrie Finch, took him. This revelation left me wondering what else could be part of this story. So as a viewer, I started to think back on things that the characters said and did, making me grow suspicious about their true intentions. Near the end of the series, everything begins to unfold, and little details I didn’t notice are brought to light.
No motive was ever clear for the first half of the season, but soon, the writers revealed the dark truth behind the mystery: Peter Irvine, Milo’s father, was the man behind all the chaos. With Josephine Murphy being Milo’s real mother and Peter’s cruel actions, I was left astonished by the end of the show.
Aside from the baffling storyline, the acting really impressed me. In particular, Sarah Snook, who plays Marissa Irvine, and Daniel Monks, who plays Peter’s brother Brian Irvine, had me speechless with their emotional scenes.
A specific moment that stood out to me was when Brian Irvine discovers his own brother’s malicious intentions to sabotage his life. Brian unleashed his pent-up rage, walking into the home of Peter Irvine and confronting him with such power that really moved me. He threw this big fit, causing chaos throughout the entire house. The anger and sadness on his face were portrayed perfectly.
The actors and producers beautifully captured the element of mystery and suspense. With that, this show was truly amazing, and I have no doubts that it will satisfy any fictional crime or murder mystery fanatic.
