As the whistle blows and the ball is tipped off, there is only one thing that is certain: Jaguar basketball is back. After falling short in the regional finals last season against the state champions, Blanche Ely, the Jaguars are back and ready to regain the title they secured in 2024.

After a successful previous season with a record of 19-8 and a district championship title against Archbishop McCarthy, the Jaguars are back and hungrier than ever.
Starting off the season strong with two victories versus South Florida basketball powerhouses Chaminade-Madonna (87-39) and Coral Glades (77-65), the Jags have proven their hunger for the state champion title.
This year’s captains are seniors Robert Guishard (forward) and Jacob Trenchfield (guard) and junior Zacuras Dawson (guard). Guishard was a stud for the Jags last season, averaging 13.2 points per game, 11 rebounds per game, and 1.6 blocks per game.
Now as a captain and leader for the Jaguars, he hopes that “everyone continues to keep hooping and doing what they do.”
Searching for revenge, the Jags have one thing on their minds: a state championship. The Jaguars have a successful history, as they have previously secured two rings in 2021 and 2024; they look to continue dominating the state of Florida.
“We are expected to win a state championship this year, and we hope to be a top 25 team in the country and maximize our potential,” Trenchfield adds.
The Jaguars will finally be able to get even as they are rematching against Blanche Ely on December 9, 2025. This matchup will bring intensity, energy, rivalry, tough feelings, and excitement as the Jags are attempting to roar back for revenge.
The Jaguars hope to bring home a state title this season, and their fast-paced, aggressive style on the court brings high hopes and expectations. With new talent and a good mindset, the Jaguars look to see a successful season in their future.
