Welcome back, Jaguars! Thank you for tuning in to week thirty-one of The Claw spring sports edition. Last week was an eventful one, as many of our Jaguar athletic programs competed in several games. Let’s get straight into last week’s athletic report.
Dominating the waters: Lady Jags water polo
Last week, the Lady Jags’ water polo team competed in two home games and went 2-0. First, they faced off against Flanagan High School on Tuesday, March 24, and won 16-6. Then, on Thursday, March 26, they competed against Western High School and won 21-8.
The Lady Jags currently hold a record of 12-3 and have one game scheduled for this week, which is on Tuesday, March 31, @6:30 pm at home against St. Thomas Aquinas High School.
Making a splash: Jag Boys water polo
Last week, the Jag Boys water polo team competed in two home games and went 2-0. First, they competed against Flanagan High School on Tuesday, March 24, and won 12-1. Then, they faced off against Western High School on Thursday, March 26, and won 22-16.
Currently, they hold a record of 4-8, and this week they are scheduled to compete in one game, which is on Tuesday, March 31, @7:30 pm at home against St. Thomas Aquinas High School.
Claws out: Lady Jags softball
Last week, the Lady Jags varsity softball team went 1-1 as they competed in two home games. The first one was against Western High School on Wednesday, March 25, and they lost 1-2. Then, they ended their week under the Friday night lights against Archbishop McCarthy High School with a Jaguar victory of 10-3.
They currently stand with a record of 8-3, and this week they compete in the Kissimmee Klassic Tournament, which consists of four games. The first game is on Thursday, April 2 @2 pm against Merritt Island High School. This is followed by three games, for which the opponents have not been set yet.
Chasing Excellence: Lady Jags JV softball
Last week, the Lady Jags JV softball team faced off against Forest Hill High School on Saturday, March 28, and left with a victory of 16-1.
They stand with a record of 2-5 as their season has concluded.
Claws in the court: Jaguars tennis
The Jaguars’ tennis team competed in two away matches last week and did not win any of the games. First, they faced off against West Broward High School on Monday, March 23, then they faced off against Cypress Bay High School on Wednesday, March 25.
This week, they do not compete in any matches.
Jaguars varsity baseball swinging through the season
Last week, the Jaguars baseball team went 2-1 as they competed in three games. First, they were the home team against Nova High School on Tuesday, March 24, and won the game 5-2. Then, they were away against Chaminade Madonna High School on Wednesday, March 25, and lost 0-10. Finally, they ended their week under the Friday night lights against Taravella High School on March 27 with a Jaguar victory of 14-8.
The Jaguars currently hold a record of 10-10 and compete in two games this week. The first game takes place at Coral Springs High School on Monday, March 30, @7pm. Then, they have Senior Night at home on Tuesday, March 31 @6:30 pm against Aubrey Rogers High School.
Jaguars JV baseball ready to roar
Last week, the Jaguars’ JV baseball team competed in a doubleheader against Western High School on Saturday, March 28. They went 0-1-1, as the first game ended in a tie, 4-4, and the second game ended in a loss, 1-9.
The JV Jaguars baseball team now stands with a record of 5-4-1 and has a double header scheduled for this week at home on Saturday, April 4, @10 am and @12:30 pm against Doral Academy.
Jaguars track sprinting into the season
Last week, the Jaguars track team competed in the BCAA finals under the Friday night lights on March 27. Junior Adam Stewart was the BCAA champion for the 1,600 as well as placing second in the 2 miles. Junior Gian Carlo De Bastos placed 5th in the 2 miles.
This week, the Jaguars do not compete in any meets.
Lady Jags flag football takes the field
The Lady Jags flag football team went 0-2 as they competed in two games at home last week. First, they faced off against West Broward High School on Tuesday, March 24, and lost 6-12. Then, they competed against Marjory Stoneman Douglas High School on Wednesday, March 25, and lost 0-41.
They currently stand with a record of 0-8 and have one away game scheduled for this week against Doral Academy on Tuesday, March 31, @3 pm.
Jaguars boys volleyball: claws in the net
Last week, the Jaguars boys’ volleyball team competed in one away game against Flanagan High School on Friday, March 27, and won 3-1.
They currently hold a record of 8-3, and this week they are scheduled to compete in one game at Chaminade Madonna High School on Monday, March 30, @4:30 pm.
Jaguars beach volleyball in the sand
The Jaguars’ beach volleyball team competed in two games this week. The first was on Tuesday, March 24, at Chaminade Madonna High School. Then, on Thursday, March 26, they were away at Cypress Bay High School.
This week, they compete in one game at Cooper City High School on Tuesday, March 31 @3:30 pm.
