Welcome back, Jaguars! Thank you for tuning in to week thirty-two of The Claw spring sports edition. Last week was an eventful one, as many of our Jaguar athletic programs competed in several games. Let’s get straight into last week’s athletic report.
Dominating the waters: Lady Jags water polo
Last week, the Lady Jags’ water polo team competed in one home game against St. Thomas Aquinas High School on Tuesday, March 30, and lost 9-31.
The Lady Jags currently hold a record of 12-4 and are roaring into districts, which takes place on Tuesday, April 7, @6:30 pm at home against Western High School.Â
Making a splash: Jag Boys water polo
Last week, the Jag Boys water polo team competed in one home game against St. Thomas Aquinas High School on Tuesday, March 30, and lost 7-12.
Currently, they hold a record of 4-9 and are roaring into districts, which takes place on Tuesday, April 7, @5:30 pm at home against Western High School.Â
Claws out: Lady Jags softball
Last week, the Lady Jags varsity softball team went 1-3 as they competed in the Kissimmee Klassic tournament. On Thursday, April 2, they faced off against Merritt Island and left with a Jaguar victory of 5-4. Then, on Friday, April 3, they faced off against East Ridge High School and lost 1-3.
Finally, they played two games on Saturday, April 4. The first was against Okeechobee High School, and they lost 0-7. This was followed by another loss of 3-4 to Lake Wales High School.
They currently stand with a record of 9-6, and this week they compete in the Orange Bowl tournament. On Thursday, April 9, @3:30 pm, they face off against St. Brendan High School, then on Friday, April 10, @7pm, they face off against Marjory Stoneman Douglas High School.Â
Their last two games of the tournament are on Saturday, April 11. The first game of the day is against West Broward High School @2:30 pm, and then @4:30 pm, they face off against South Broward High School.Â
Claws in the court: Jaguar’s tennis
The Jaguars’ tennis team did not compete in any matches.Â
This week, they are scheduled to compete in two home matches. The first one is against Everglades High School, on Monday, April 6, @3:30 pm. This is followed by another match on Thursday, April 9, @3:30 pm against Hallandale High School.
Jaguars’ varsity baseball swinging through the season
Last week, the Jaguars baseball team went 0-2 as they competed in two games. First, they were at Coral Springs High School on Monday, March 30, and lost 1-5. Then, they were the home team against Aubrey Rogers High School on Tuesday, March 31, and lost 2-7.
The Jaguars currently hold a record of 10-12 and compete in three games this week. First, they are at home against Coral Springs Charter High School on Monday, April 6, @6:30 pm. Then, they are at JC Bermudez Doral High School on Tuesday, April 7, @3:30 pm. Finally, they end their week on Thursday, March 9, @6:30 pm at home against Cooper City High School.Â
Jaguars’ JV baseball ready to roar
Last week, the Jaguars’ JV baseball team went 0-2 as they competed in a doubleheader against Doral Academy on Saturday, April 4. They lost the first game 1-3 and also lost the second game 1-13.
The JV Jaguars baseball team now stands with a record of 5-6-1 and has a double header scheduled for this week at JC Bermudez Doral High School on Saturday, April 11, @10 am and @12:30 pm.
Jaguars track sprinting into the season
Last week, the Jaguars track team did not compete in any meets.Â
This week, the Jaguars compete in one meet under the Friday night lights on April 10 @3:30 pm.
Lady Jags flag football takes the field
The Lady Jags flag football team competed in an away game at Doral Academy on Tuesday, March 31, and lost.
They currently stand with a record of 0-9 and have three games this week. The first one is at home against True North Classical Academy on Wednesday, April 8, @5pm. Then, they are away as they face off against Nova High School on Thursday, April 9, @6 pm. They end their week under the Friday night lights at Cypress Bay High School on April 10 @5 pm.Â
Jaguars boys’ volleyball: claws in the net
Last week, the Jaguars boys’ volleyball team competed in one away game against Chaminade Madonna High School on Monday, March 30, and left with a Jaguar victory of 3-0.Â
They currently hold a record of 9-3, and this week they are scheduled to compete in two games. The first is at Cardinal Gibbons High School on Wednesday, April 8, @4:30 pm. This is followed by a home game against Chaminade Madonna on Thursday, April 9, @4:30 pm
Jaguars beach volleyball in the sand
The Jaguars’ beach volleyball team competed in one away game against Cooper City High School on Tuesday, March 31.Â
​This week, they compete in an away game at Western High School on Thursday, April 9, @3:30 pm.
