Welcome back, Jaguars! Thank you for tuning in to week fifteen of The Claw winter sports edition. Last week was an eventful one as many of our Jaguar athletic programs competed in several games. Let’s get straight into last week’s athletic report.
Jags Cross Country sprinting through the season
The Jags Cross Country team competed in the FHSAA state championship at Apalachee Regional Park on Saturday, November 22, @8am. Their season has officially ended as the boys team placed 27th in the state championships, and only one Lady Jag, Alayah Samuel, competed in the state championship and placed 91 in the state.
Jags Soccer Protecting the Den
Last week, the Jags boys’ soccer team was away as they faced off against Marjory Stoneman Douglas High School on Monday, November 17, and ended the game with a tie; the final score was 0-0.
The Jaguars now hold a record of 2-1-1. They do not have a game scheduled for this week, as it is Thanksgiving break.
Lady Jags on the Prowl
Last week, the Lady Jags soccer team competed in two away games. The first game was at Marjory Stoneman Douglas on Monday, November 17, and they ended with a tie; the final score was 1-1. The second game took place away at Cypress Bay High School on Thursday, November 20, and they left with a loss of 0-3.
The Lady Jags now hold a record of 2-1-1. This week, they do not have a game scheduled, as it is Thanksgiving break.
Jaguars basketball back for revenge
The Jaguars varsity basketball team competed in their home opener last week. They faced off against Chaminade Madonna High School on Wednesday, November 19, and left with a Jaguar victory of 87-39.
The Jaguars now stand with a winning record of 1-0. This week, they do not have a game scheduled, as it is Thanksgiving break.
JV basketball roaring into the season
Last week, the Jaguars JV basketball team kicked off its season at its home opener. They faced off against Chaminade Madonna High School on Wednesday, November 19, and won the game with a final score of 65-34.
The JV Jaguars now stand with a winning record of 1-0. This week, they do not have a game scheduled, as it is Thanksgiving break.
Shooting for success: Lady Jags Basketball
The Lady Jags basketball team roared into their season at their home opener last week against Chaminade Madonna High School. The game took place on Wednesday, November 19, and the Lady Jags left with a victory of 50-15.
