It’s showtime. The SAG-AFTRA strike has been ongoing in the entertainment industry since this summer, but its consequences have been apparent through fall, as many’s favorite shows didn’t return for a new season. Now, the curtain is finally ready to rise, the spotlight is set to shine, and directors can once again shout “Action!” as the credits have rolled on the strike.

On September 27th, the Writers Guild of America reached an agreement with the Alliance of Motion Picture and Television Producers, read more here. Despite this progression and seemingly end of the strike, the actors persevered in their fight. Writers were able to write, but with no actors to act, the industry was at a standstill.

On November 9th, the news struck that the strike was over—officially, this time, actors included. With the establishment of new deals, the play button of writing, production, and filming is ready to be pressed, and TV shows and movies are expected to make their comebacks in no time.
