The “New year, new me” mentality fills many people’s auras once they ring in the new year, a practice that sets the foundation for the future months ahead of them. Whether it be New Year’s Day traditions or any activity that provides guidance and direction, there have been a multitude of forms of new year’s resolutions. In the spirit of the new year, the CHAT gives their take on the new “2024 Ins and Outs” trend—what we’re taking with us into this new year, and what we’re leaving out in the past.

Ins:

  • Staying involved with clubs
  • Asking questions
  • Being grateful
  • Going to sleep earlier
  • Earning money
  • Talking to new people in person
  • Less screen time
  • Initiating more ‘me-time’ into life
  • Finishing unfinished shows
  • Reading more
  • Eating healthier
  • Spending more time with family
  • Drinking more water
  • Being more organized
  • New beginnings
  • Getting at least 8 hours of sleep
  • Exercising daily
  • Eating more greens
  • Respect for yourself and others
  • Accomplishing your goals

Outs:

  • Not studying
  • Overthinking
  • Thinking negatively about yourself
  • Skipping breakfast
  • Wearing trendy products just to fit in
  • Not maintaining a clean work space
  • Procrastinating
  • Mindless scrolling
  • Laziness
  • Comparing yourself to others
