Finding the Positive During a Hard Time

Mia Mateo, OPINIONS EDITOR

For a long time I had this feeling of emptiness and loneliness and I wanted to change. I wanted to get the full experience of life. I didn’t know where to start, so I started listening to this podcast on Spotify called “Boss of Your Own Brain Podcast.” It explains how to be in control of your own mind and chase what you want.

I learned about the law of attraction and how if you focus on what you want rather than what you don’t want then you will receive the good. That led me into manifestation where I started scripting and doing affirmations every morning. This helped me feel more confident about myself and live in a more positive way.

During this pandemic I have been digging myself into this whole of negativity and I realized that what I was doing was just not working. Every morning I manifested my happiness and healthy relationships and little by little I felt happier and more motivated to do things.

I used two methods everyday, the 3 by 33 and 5 by 55 where you write your affirmations 33 times for 3 days or 55 times for 5 days. An example of an affirmation would be “I am happy.”

When manifesting you have to act and believe that you already have what you want. For example “I AM happy” rather than “I want to be happy.” The affirmations have to be in present tense.

I plan to make a vision bored of my goals and put it somewhere it can be seen so everyday I can try to achieve those goals.

I still have my struggles but I’m not going to stop trying because I have learned that things do not come that easy. It takes time. You are in control of your life so go after what you want and don’t let anyone try and stop you from doing that.
