Welcome back, Jaguars! Thank you for tuning in to week nine of The Claw, fall sports edition. Last week was an eventful one as many of our Jaguar athletic programs competed in several games. Let’s get straight into last week’s athletic report.
Lady Jags securing the net
Last week, the Lady Jags varsity volleyball team competed in three games, as they had two at home and one away. On Monday, October 6, the Lady Jags faced off against St. Thomas Aquinas High School at home and ended the game with a 3-0 loss. This was followed by an away game against Piper High School on Wednesday, October 8, and the Lady Jags left with a Jaguar victory of 3-0. Finally, on Thursday, October 9, they played their last regular season game against Nova High School and ended the game with a win and a final score of 3-0. This now makes their record 10-6.
This week, the Lady Jags compete against Hollywood Hills High School in districts at home on Wednesday, October 15 @6 pm. If they win this game, their season continues, and the Lady Jags will go to the district finals on Thursday, October 16.
Building Momentum: Lady Jags JV Volleyball in Action
The Lady Jags JV volleyball team faced off against St. Thomas Aquinas High School at home on Monday, October 6, and lost. On Wednesday, October 8, they were away as they won against Piper High School. Following this, they concluded their season as they faced off against Nova High School and ended the game with a Jaguar victory.
Jag Boyz football is roaring through the season
On Saturday, October 11, the Jag Boyz competed in an away game against Mater Academy Charter High School. The Jaguars lost the game with a final score of 0-54, making their record now 1-7.
This week, the Jag Boyz compete in a home game on Thursday, October 16 @6 pm against Everglades High School.

JV Jags football is attempting to rebuild the program
Last week, the JV Jags football team competed in a home game against Fort Lauderdale High School on Thursday, October 9, and ended the game with a loss of 22-36. Their record currently stands at 1-4.
This week, the JV Jags face off against Nova High School at home on Wednesday, October 15 @6:30 pm.
Jags swimming to success
The Jags swim team competed in the BCAA Championships, which took place on Saturday, October 11. Many of the Jags placed as the girls won the BCAA championship medal, and some of the boys went to the finals.
This week, they have their senior night at home against Miramar High School and Taravella High School on Tuesday, October 14, @7pm.
Jags Cross Country sprinting through the season
Last week, the Jags cross country team competed in a meet on Wednesday, October 8th, at Plantation Heritage Park. Their next meet is the BCAA Championships, and it takes place on Monday, October 13, at Markham Park.
Many of the Jags placed high in both the girls’ and boys’ meets from last week; here are some of the highlights and stats.

- Adam Stewart #3 in the boys’ 5k at 17:19.60 minutes.
- Gian Carlo De Bastos #6 in the boys 5k at 18:41.10 minutes.
- Alayah Samuel #8 in the girls’ 5k at 23:12.10 minutes.
Jags Golf Team swinging through the season
On Tuesday, October 7, the Jags golf team competed in an away match, which took place at Western High School. This was followed by a home match against Flanagan High School and South Broward High School on Thursday, October 9. The results from this match will be added to the players’ stats and released at the end of the season.
This week, the Jags golf team is at home as they have one match scheduled, which is against South Plantation High School on Thursday, October 16 @3:30 pm.
