With a 4.8-star rating and over 200 reviews on Google, Leaf House has made itself a fan favorite cafe. Whether you go to study, talk, or just hang out, Leaf House’s cozy interior and diverse menu make it a very strong choice.
Leaf House was first thought of by its owners, Yang He and J He, when visiting China.
“We tried boba tea here in the states and it just wasn’t [as] good,” says Yang. “We […] want to give people the real experience of drinking bubble tea.”
To them, similar places did not use the right ingredients and had the mentality that a premium price constitutes a premium taste.
The dim lighting and music make the atmosphere of the shop very relaxing. This is actually what the owners think sets them apart from their competitors, as they believe that being in their cafe is an experience. People of all ages visit the shop, from little kids with their mom getting a sweet treat to college students wanting to catch up on some reading while sipping on a drink.
When you walk in, a friendly hello and a wave from the staff are common. The typical setting includes students working on laptops or a small group of friends talking about their day at school. As you leave, a worker will say “Have a nice day!” with a smile and a wave.
Leaf House are known for their boba, with their two most popular drinks being the taro and brown sugar versions. The recent rise of matcha’s popularity has also done the store some good, seeing an increase in purchases of those drinks.
All of the drinks they provide are recipes of J, the other owner and wife of Yang.
“J would prepare the drinks for me in the kitchen, and I would try them,” notes Yang. “[The drinks on the menu] are the ones that we both decided were the best, and I feel our variety caters to people of all ages.”
Yang and J have thought about expanding to other locations, like Sunrise and Plantation.
“We live in this area, so that’s why the shop is here. We would want to expand if given the opportunity, but right now it’s hard to find good leadership,” they stated.
Leaf House has not been around for that long, yet it’s still one of the most popular Boba tea shops in Pembroke Pines. The high-quality ingredients combined with the amazing atmosphere make for a very comfortable experience. The shop will likely continue to rise in popularity, but nobody knows just how far this business will go.
