Welcome back, Jaguars! Thank you for tuning in to week eight of The Claw, fall sports edition. Last week was an eventful one as many of our Jaguar athletic programs competed in several games. Let’s get straight into last week’s athletic report.
Lady Jags securing the net
Last week, the Lady Jags varsity volleyball team competed in the BCAA Big 8 tournament on Tuesday, September 30, against St. Thomas Aquinas High School. They left with a loss and a final score of 0-2, which now makes their record 8-5.
This week, the Lady Jags face off at home against St. Thomas Aquinas High School again on Monday, October 6, @6pm. This is followed by two away games on Tuesday, October 7th, @6pm against Western High School and on Wednesday, October 8th, @6pm against Piper High School. Finally, on Thursday, October 9th, @6 pm, the Lady Jags’ senior night takes place as they face off against Nova High School at home.
Building Momentum: Lady Jags JV Volleyball in Action
The Lady Jags JV volleyball team did not compete in any games last week, yet this week they face off against St. Thomas Aquinas High School at home on Monday, October 6 @4:30 pm. Additionally, on Wednesday, October 8 @4:30 pm, they are away as they face off against Piper High School. Following this, they are at home on Thursday, October 9 @4:30 pm, where they will play against Nova High School.
Jag Boyz football is roaring through the season
On Friday, October 3, the Jag Boyz competed in an away game against Nova High School. The Jaguars lost the game with a final score of 7-21, making their record now 1-6.
This week, the Jag Boyz compete in another away game on Saturday, October 11 @7 pm against Mater Academy High School.
JV Jags football attempting to rebuild the program
Last week, the JV Jags football team competed in an away game at Hollywood Hills High School on Tuesday, September 30, and ended the game with a nailbiter loss of 23-24. Their record currently stands at 1-3.
This week, the JV Jags play against Coral Springs Charter High School at home on Wednesday, October 8 @6:30 pm.
Jags swimming to success
The Jags swim team competed in a meet at home on Tuesday, September 30, against Nova High School and South Plantation High School, where they secured a Jaguar victory.
This week, they have a bye week, meaning that they do not have a meet scheduled. Their next meet is scheduled to take place at home against Miramar High School and Taravella High School on Tuesday, October 14, @7pm.
Jags Cross Country sprinting through the season
Last week, the Jags cross-country team had a bye week as well. Their next game takes place on Wednesday, October 8th @4:30 pm at Plantation Heritage Park.
Jags Golf Team swinging through the season
On Tuesday, September 30, the Jags golf team competed in an away match, which took place at Cypress Bay High School. The results from this match will be added to the players’ stats and released at the end of the season.
This week, the Jags golf team is away as they have two matches scheduled; the first one away at Western High School on Tuesday, October 7 @3:30 pm. This is then followed by a home match against Flanagan High School and South Broward High School on Thursday, October 9 @3:30 pm.
