The Kardashians: The End Of An Era?


Keeping Up With the Kardashians, the reality show enjoyed by many, is coming to an end in 2021. The show debuted back in 2007; 13 years later, it now has 19 seasons. They [the Kardashians] are known for their scandals, weddings, divorces, pregnancies, and other family drama. However, cultural differences can affect how this show is seen; the Kardashians can be described as rude to different cultures, hence deleted scenes and censors. 


Euphoria: Happiness


Similar to Riverdale, Euphoria’s plot includes controversial topics: drugs, alcohol, friendships, and other coming-of-age themes. This show, similar to other genres from different cultures, portray realistic, but not all, perspectives of events that can happen in their target audience: teens. On TikTok, there is a trend where TikTokers use “Still Don’t Know My Name x Feel Something,” a song spotlighted in Euphoria. TikTokers demonstrate parallelism, after the beat drops. 


Netflix canceled The Society: How do viewers feel?


The Society is another coming-of-age TV show. According to Nicole Flores, a junior, the way disputable topics are shown seem “natural”. Relating to Euphoria, it [The Society] also includes mental issues that is still current and happening in society today, but told in a different ways. Each character is different; they each have their own problems, as they come from different backgrounds. Nicole shares her own opinion: “I would’ve enjoyed seeing some of my favorite characters from the show get the character development they deserved.” It is recommended for mature audiences only. 

Travis Scott’s McDonald’s Meal: Worth the Hype?


Travis Scott may be known for his music, his marriage to Kylie Jenner, and his involvement in Fortnite. He partnered with McDonalds and came up with a meal called: Travis Scott Meal.” According to the McDonald’s website, they described his meal as a Quarter Pounder with cheese, but crispy bacon and shredded lettuce are added. The meal also comes with medium sized fries, and Sprite. Sophomore Aden Arteaga says, “Personally, I wouldn’t buy it because it’s just a Quarter Pounder with bacon and lettuce,” His fans, as he is an influencer, may try the burger, and say they fancy it. However, food critics can critique it [the meal] and say they don’t fancy it.

Charli D’Amelio’s Dunkin’ Drink


Charli D’Amelio. We all know her: you either saw her on TikTok, Instagram, YouTube, or heard her name somewhere in the media. She’s only 16, but already has 86.4 million followers on TikTok. Some enjoy her content, some question how she gets views as she “just dances in front of cameras,” and some follow her because of her appearance. She’s also famous because of her specific Dunkin’ drink: a cold brew with whole milk and three pumps of caramel swirl. Similar to Travis Scott and his meal at McDonald’s, people who enjoy drinking coffee may argue her drink tastes delicious, while people who don’t like or enjoy drinking coffee may say it tastes horrible. According to Taste of Home, caramel can be described as warm and sweet which can be perfect for the fall, but individuals with a different palette can say that Charli’s drink is too sweet. 


Dune (2020): What can viewers expect? 

Timothée Chalamet and Zendaya. Fans of both the actor and actress can say they like them, but it can be an understatement, to some, such as individuals who have been following them for a while. Chanell Thomas, a sophomore, shares her opinion, “I’m excited to see Dune (2020), to see how both characters are developed.” In this movie, Timothée and Zendaya will be love interests. The genre includes both Sci-fi and Romance. The setting is set in an alternate planet, expressing parallelism (Polygon). Christelle Berry, also a sophomore, agrees that she is excited for the movie, Dune, because she too, is a fan of them [Timothée and Zendaya]. The trailer came out recently, as it had its setbacks because of Corona, but it [Dune] will be released December of 2020.
