Singer and artist David Burke, better known as D4vid, has recently become involved in a homicide case following the discovery of a 15-year-old girl’s body in the front trunk of his Tesla. Known for his contributions to the soundtrack in Invincible and the creation of his song “Romantic Homicide,” the artist has cancelled the rest of his U.S tour due to the start of the investigation.
Celeste Rivas Hernandez, whose decomposing remains were found in his car, had been reported missing several times in 2024. Initially, when she disappeared, alarms were raised among family members and her community, prompting questions about why she had vanished without a trace.
Her discovery was not only a tragedy, but it also revealed the unsettling connection between her and D4vd. The car, reportedly abandoned for weeks in an impound lot, drew great attention because of its odor and was soon investigated to uncover the horrors within it. The car was traced back to D4vd, and law enforcement sources confirmed that the home where the singer lived was searched.
For fans, however, the news was shocking. D4vd first gained fame for his lyrics, which emphasized heartbreak and violence. Online listeners are now dissecting his music videos and lyrics, leading them to question if his songs reflect real events.
Along with multiple cases highlighting the disturbing correlation between each lyric, photographs allegedly show that the two had matching tattoos and that Rivas Hernandez was possibly pregnant when she was found.
However, nothing has been confirmed as the investigation remains in progress. Still, that hasn’t stopped fans who feel betrayed by the possibility of a hidden relationship between the singer and a minor from continuing to spread rumors.
Within days of discovering and canceling his U.S. tour, his label and management made sure no public statements were issued. Meanwhile, brand partners and artists have paused their collaborations.
“People are linking his lyrics to this case, even if investigators find no criminal activity. The correlation alone could permanently harm his career,” says Pembroke Pines Charter High School sophomore Noah Mercado.
While the death has been undetermined, police have emphasized that no charges have yet been filed, though they continue to review evidence from every home search. The case raises bigger issues about the vulnerability of missing teens and the truth between art and reality.
Fans have shown interest in an unreleased song that mentions the name of the victim who was found. Senior Bradley Powe says, “I’ve heard the song before, and in it, it said a name that matched the victim now.” This highlights the unsettling truth that has left multiple people with questions.
As the case continues, more information is expected to be released. The situation has led fans to question if his future work will be overshadowed by a hidden tragedy. Whether the singer is found guilty, he has already had an impact not only on himself but also on his family and fan base.
