Welcome back, Jaguars! Thank you for tuning in to week six of The Claw, fall sports edition. Last week was an eventful one, as many of our Jaguar athletic programs competed in several games. Let’s get straight into last week’s athletic report.
Lady Jags securing the net
Last week, the Lady Jags Varsity Volleyball team had three games scheduled, yet their game against Everglades High School on Wednesday, September 17th got cancelled.
On Monday, September 15th they played against West Broward High School at home. They ended the game with a loss and a final score of 2-3. This was followed by a home game on Thursday, September 18th against Coconut Creek High School; the Lady Jags secured a Jaguar victory with a score of 3-0; making their record now 7-4.
This week, they have one game scheduled at home against Cardinal Gibbons High School on Thursday, September 25th @6 pm.
Building Momentum: Lady Jags JV Volleyball in Action
The Lady Jags JV Volleyball team had three games scheduled last week, yet their away game against Everglades High School on Wednesday, September 17th was cancelled.
On Monday, September 15th the Lady Jags competed against West Broward High School at home followed by another home game against Coconut Creek High School on Thursday, September 18th. Unfortunately, both of these games ended in a loss.
This week, the JV Lady Jags compete in one game which is at home against Cardinal Gibbons High School on Thursday, September 25th @4:30 pm.
Jag Boyz Football roaring through the season
On Friday, September 19th, the Jag Boyz competed in an away game against Cooper City High School. The Jaguars lost the game with a final score of 13-28, making their record now 1-4.
Next week the Jag Boyz compete in another away game on Friday, September 26th @7 pm against Miramar High School.

- Quarterback Trent Beesing with 231 total yards, 13 completions, and two touchdowns thrown.
- Wide receiver Michael Akinbehinje with 120 receiving yards and one touchdown.
- Running back Josiah Knight with 125 total yards and one touchdown.
- Defensive back Omari Colbourne with 10 tackles, five assisted, and five solo.
- Defensive end Adon Hollingshead with seven total tackles, four assisted, and three solo.
- Defensive back Emmanuel Toussaint with seven total tackles, four assisted, and three solo.
JV Jags Football roaring into the season
On Tuesday, September 16th, the JV Jags Football Team competed in a home game against Northeast High School. The JV Jags secured a win with a final score of 31-14, making their record now 1-2.
This week, the JV Jags have a bye week, which means that they do not have a game scheduled. Their next game is away at Hollywood Hills High School on Tuesday, September 30th @6:30 pm.
Jags swimming to success
The Jags swim team competed in a meet at home on Tuesday, September 16th against Coral Springs Charter High School and Marjory Stoneman Douglas High School which the Jags secured a win.
Their next meet is scheduled to take place at home against Dillard High School, Everglades High School, and West Broward High School on Wednesday, September 24th @7pm.
Jags Cross Country sprinting through the season
The Jags Cross Country Team’s competed in their third meet, which was changed from Tuesday, September 16th to Friday, September 19th and Saturday, September 20th at the Spanish River Cross Country Invitational. The Jags did not place very high this meet; however this week they have an away meet scheduled on Wednesday, September 24th @4:30 pm.
Jags Golf Team swinging through the season
On Thursday, September 18th, the Jags Golf Team competed in an away match, which took place at Coral Glades High School. The results from this match will be added to the players stats and released at the end of the season.
This week, the Jags golf team is away as they face off against South Broward High School on Monday, September 22nd @3:30 pm. This is later followed by a home match on Thursday, September 25th @3:30 pm against Western High School.
