The Pembroke Pines Charter High School Jags Golf team is back out on the course and ready for this upcoming season. Planning and preparing for a redemption season, they enter with high hopes and expectations.
According to Junior Robert (Sunny) Ostendorf, the #1 player on the team for 2024-2025 season, The Jags need to focus on “improving our chemistry, and continuing to strengthen our core golf skills, and remain locked in.”
In the past, The Jags have faced many challenges and defeats. However, this season they are planning on getting back on their feet by uniting as a team to build a strong foundation for the program.
Although last season was a complete whirlwind of emotions and losses for the Jags, this season they are fired up and back for blood. As they come back, their game plan is to start from the basics of the game, and slowly take baby steps to improve as a team, while leaning on their coaches, and each other.
Sophomore Reyansh Kalra explains her goals and expectations for this season as they are, “to improve my swing and consistency of hitting the ball on the green in 2-3 shots. Also, I plan on developing a stronger mental focus.”
Ostendorf also notes his “expectations for this upcoming season are to improve and get better at golf and have some good competition against other schools and the members of our team.”
The Jags golf team is back and ready to roar into the 2025-2026 season stronger than ever with high hopes and expectations. While also holding a clear understanding of their capabilities and weaknesses, they are ready to make a historic comeback.
