The 2025-2026 school year has officially begun. In addition to the school year beginning, there are now some new student athletes at Charter for basketball. Each of them all coming from different schools, they are all here to make an impact on developing the basketball program and their road to states again. Here are some of the newest additions to the Pembroke Pines Charter High School Basketball team.
Zack Dawson
Zack Dawson is a class of 2027, former player for Miami Northwestern High School. He brings passion, strength, and leadership to the team. Dawson decided to transfer to Charter because he has high hopes for the future of the Jags pursuit of a state championship and he thinks it is “a great spot to continue my basketball journey.” Dawson currently holds three Division I offers and attracts interest from many more schools. His ultimate goal is to help bring home a title and prepare himself for the next level.
Adam Starr Jr.
Adam Starr Jr. (Aj) is a class of 2027, and former player at Calvary Christian High School. As a Junior, he brings speed, confidence, and leadership to the team. Starr explains that he “transferred to Charter for the opportunity to play on a big stage and compete for a championship.” What stood out to him most about becoming a Jag was the team’s atmosphere, which is filled with talented players and supportive coaches that believe in him. Starr has drawn interest from numerous Division I programs, and his main goal is to grow with the program and help win a state title this year.
Anthony Walcott
Anthony Walcott is a class of 2027, and a former player at Miami Norland High School. He brings an intense and resilient skill set to the team, having transferred to Charter because he was drawn to “how much effort and hard work the team puts in.” Walcott joined the program with the goal of winning a state championship and currently holds eight Division I offers, while continuing to attract interest from several other schools.
