With a small business starting and the family’s admiration for her baked sweets only growing even more, Madison Camacho introduced an online baking business called Sweet Addiction Bakery in Mar. 2024. With the help of her family, Camacho took her passion for baking and turned it into a business. What began as a simple love for making treats has become a fully operational bakery.
Camacho’s love for baking started when she was younger. “I remember being in the kitchen, watching as simple ingredients transformed into something magical,” she says. The smell of fresh cookies, the warmth of the oven, and the joy of sharing my treats with family and friends, it all made me fall in love with [baking].”
This passion for baking has guided her throughout her journey, motivating her to turn what was once a hobby into something more. Over time, her kitchen skills continued to improve, and baking became a cherished part of her life.
“They couldn’t get enough,” Camacho says. Seeing the excitement and joy her baked goods brought to others, she decided to leap into business ownership. Camacho had continuously considered starting her own business, especially after she developed a love for baking, but she never fully took action until her family supported her.
When she created this business, she quickly found a partner to help her continue advancing it. She initially allowed herself to get out of her comfort zone and work on an exciting entrepreneurial experience.
With the help of her business partner, coming up with ideas, they were able to quickly create multiple ways to give their business recognition. First, they decided to make a main social media platform to promote her business,
an Instagram account to showcase her baked goods and discuss them with customers.
To further spread the word about her business, Camacho hired people from different schools to promote her cookies. This allowed her to reach out to others and create more of a customer base for her continuing reputation.
Camacho ensures that each recipe is entirely homemade, offering a variety of flavors that appeal to her customers’ different taste buds. The bakery itself uses high-quality ingredients to promise delicious results.
While Camacho’s love for baking remains strong, she acknowledges that running a business is sometimes challenging. “Baking isn’t just about mixing flour and sugar; it’s about creativity, patience, and the happiness it brings to others. It has become more than a passion—a way to express myself and spread sweetness in the world.”
Camacho admits that running a business can sometimes become overwhelming, and she’s occasionally questioned whether she should keep going. Like any business, it gets hard, and it isn’t easy to stay motivated.
Camacho finds herself struggling with this mindset when she soon gets pressure growing on her due to orders and deliveries. But she’s learned to navigate these challenges over time by asking for help and staying organized.
Camacho and her business partner have built a positive outcome for handling orders. Customers can place online orders on the Sweet Addiction Bakery Instagram page. Here, they can also check the available flavors and place custom orders.
With a follow-up on their orders, the bakery ensures that cookies are sold during school hours, with deliveries rotating based on availability. In their system, they remain flexible and cater to students, parents, and teachers.
On weekends, Camacho takes care of the larger deliveries and catering orders. This has allowed her to grow as an entrepreneur and help improve her time management skills. Despite the busy schedule, she enjoys seeing the happiness her baked goods bring to others.
Through hard work and perseverance, the Sweet Addiction Bakery has become more than a business—it’s been a growing expression of Camacho’s love for baking. She’s transformed a simple love for baking into a thriving business, all while learning valuable lessons along the way.
