After dedicating the past few years of their lives to Pembroke Pines Charter Soccer, it is finally time for our ‘25 seniors to celebrate their memories and triumphs that they have experienced during their time as a Jaguar soccer player.
Senior night, a yearly tradition, was celebrated on January 14th for both our girls and boys varsity soccer teams. The Lady Jags faed off against the Flangan Falcons which ended in a win with the final score of 1-0.
Just as the girls varsity team our boys maintained their undefeated streak with a 3-0 victory against the Falcons. Every goal came from our beloved seniors, Marissa Martin, Logan Hall, Simon Samudio, and Carl Hans-Joseph.
A tradition at Pines Charter is the graduating seniors are honored with a ceremony with their family, friends, and teammates.
Each senior is given a basket full of goodies such as candies, snacks, and water bottles, made by their teammates to show their appreciation for the seniors.
After transferring her sophomore year from Flanagan High School, midfielder Isabella Mendez, one of the Lady Jags’ captains, says her time at Pines Charter has been “the most special experience in [her] life, with all the good memories she has and the friends she’s made.”
Another one of our seniors, forward and captain, Logan Hall, decided to spend his last year of high school here at Pines Charter because “of the amazing coaches and the culture that has been created here.”
Although this may be one of their last home games, our seniors are ready for the playoffs, with districts starting this upcoming week.
As well, with our boys ending off with their first undefeated season in program history, “it is the best feeling ever” says senior defender Simon Samudio.
Both of our varsity teams are more than ready, and “can’t wait to prove ourselves during playoffs”, says captain and winger Marissa Martin.
