Welcome to Pembroke Pines Charter High School’s newspaper, The CHAT! We are so excited to begin the 2024-2025 school year and keep our school informed on what’s happening in our community.
The Charter High Academic Times (CHAT) is for all students, teachers, administrators, and more to enjoy. Here are a few updates for this year:
You can write for The CHAT even if you aren’t in our class
- Our “Columns” section is open and ready for submissions! Keep track of our social media where we post a quarterly theme for this section. Students, teachers, administrators, and alumni are welcome to write for this section about their own personal experiences.
Stay connected and follow our social media platforms
- Keep yourself up to date with our Tik Tok and Instagram platforms @ppchsnewspaper, where YOU can be featured on our videos! Make sure to read our stories to participate in our interactive videos.
Pitch story ideas to us
- If you hear or see something that could potentially be a newsworthy story, tell us! Whether through email, Instagram DMs, or stopping by room C117, share what’s on your mind and the topics you’d like to see featured in our newspaper.
Thursday Night Football games and more
- Get ready for action-packed sports coverage including on-field reporters, cameramen, and even drones! The CHAT prioritizes coverage from all PPCHS sports. Stay on the lookout for our exciting content.
Want to become more involved in journalism? Join our new Journalism Honor Society club
- The Journalism Honor Society is back at PPCHS! Join our monthly meetings where we will discuss the different fields of journalism and provide volunteer hour opportunities, guest speakers, contests, and so much more. Make sure to follow us on Instagram @ppchs_jhs for updates.
