The Jaguars definitely brought some heat in their season opening white out game. Hosting the Western Wildcats in the first triple header home game of the season. Unfortunately, the JV boys and the Girls’ varsity teams lost their games, but never backed down from the challenge and showed all their strength.
With the loss of the other teams on their minds, the Boys Varsity Jags knew what they had to come out strong for the season opener. Running out from the locker room onto the court, the energy levels of the home crowd started to soar; excitement levels were high and the boys were ready to take on the cross-town team.
The Jaguars started off the game with heat stepping onto the court, great plays made by Juniors Zemari Days, and Max Ortega. They even kept the crowd entertained along with flashy dunks from starting power forward Jermey Elyzee and starting center Joshie Harris. Combining over 43 points just Joshie and Jermey alone.
Positive outlooks for the Jaguars, starting the season off with a tight but strong win over the Wildcats, 79-72. “Still struggling in connection with one another,” said Days. But he believes his teammates “have the ability to grow together and make this season a winning season.”
As the first week of the season goes, the Jags are 3-1 collecting dominating wins and bringing spirit to charter. As tougher opponents loom in the near future, it’s believed the Jaguars can continue their dominance.
