As the first bell at 7am rings, the incoming and returning Jaguars head back to campus for the start of the new school year. But, for the fall season athletes, this isn’t their first return to campus since last May.
This upcoming fall season the Jaguars are on the hunt for multiple victorious seasons. In the upcoming weeks, the Jaguars are ready to turn on their engines and show out on all levels. Starting off strong, the Lady Jags Volleyball team headed to Northeast on Monday, August 19th. This was later followed up with another triple header week.
Jenna McIntosh, captain of this year’s squad gave her words before her last season as a Jaguar. “I want to give it my all this season and make as many memories as possible so I can leave on a good note” One of only three seniors on the roster for the ‘24 season, Jenna McIntosh has high hopes for what might be her last hope of playing volleyball.
As the swim team dives into the new season, the first meet for the Jags is on home turf. The last Thursday, August the 27th, our varsity swimmers take on Miramar and Taravella High.
Just like class of 2025 as they get ready to complete their last first everything, Senior Jags are more than ready for their first home game of the season. They will be hosting the Northeast Hurricanes, Thursday, August 22nd. Yet again, the home opener is a regular season matchup. In the past three years, the Jaguars have had a three year blowout streak against the Hurricanes and are hoping to continue the tradition once again.
For his second year as varsity captain, Keideran (KJ) Willis is ready for this fifth and final season representing the Jaguar pride. “There’s a lot of emotions going on right now, especially going into the season fresh and not injured. I definitely feel like I have a chip on my shoulder and have a lot to prove.”
This fall season has created a lot of anticipation and high hopes for the first half of sports this year. Let’s see what these fall athletes can prove this season.
