The long awaited day has finally arrived! After five years—although for many fans it might have felt like a century—Pop and R&B superstar SZA has finally announced the release of her sophomore album. Around midday Monday, December 5, SZA officially posted pictures of the tracklist, along with the name of the album, SOS. The album includes collaborations with Don Toliver, Phoebe Bridgers, and Travis Scott.

This announcement brings lots of excitement to many fans, as it had been a long running joke that SZA would never return with another album. However, the rumors were finally put to an end this week, and the buzz the 33 year old Grammy winner generated this week is undeniable. Charter’s own SZA fans can’t seem to stand the anticipation. “I’m really excited to see what she brings!” sophomore Mckenna Greggory raved. Even students who don’t consider themselves big fans are still interested to see what the artist brings to the table. Senior Joshua Blackwood explained how he was in between a “big and mid” kind of fan. However, he still thinks the album will bring a “chill” vibe he might enjoy. Students who had taken a peek at the tracklist have been making predictions for what the best song will be. Senior Leanna Brereton shares her prediction, saying, “I have a feeling Gone Girl will be one of the best on the album. The name feels like a play on her hit ‘Normal Girl’.” Regardless of public opinion on the artist, it’s certain that millions will be tuning in this Friday to listen to what SZA’s been working on for all this time.
