Spanish Honor Society Celebrates El Mes de la Herencia Hispana!

Alexandra Kouropteva and Rebecca Lim

Scholarship Seminar

“The Scholarship Seminar hosted by SHS gave students who showed up an opportunity to learn more about the different types of scholarships that are offered to hispanics. Not only this, but students were given tips and tricks about scholarships in general to know what to look out for and how to stay organized. In the end, they were given the chance to apply to these scholarships if they wanted to and were also able to ask questions. This was a learning opportunity for everyone, including me and everyone else who participated in making the presentation.”

Arepa Class

“I thought it went great and it went even better than expected! I could tell everyone was having a fun time learning how to make their arepas. It would have been cool to have had a grill for each group, but the extension cords would have probably gotten in the way, so I think it was the best of what we could have made of it. My favorite moment I would definitely have to say was when the first batch of arepas was done. All the participants seemed to enjoy them a lot and thought they tasted great! It was definitely a success and a great way to celebrate our Hispanic Heritage Week!”

Karaoke

“I had an amazing time. I loved seeing people from other grades and friend groups to just have a good time. One of the things I would have loved was if more people came to the event. Overall I think karaoke went great and it went how I expected to go.
