Marvel is Back and Better than Ever

Alexandria Williams, Staff Writer

After a long break, Marvel is back and making more movies than before! They released numerous trailers, movie names, dates, and so much more at San Diego Comic-Con 2022. With more superheroes comes more action, and many Marvel fans can’t wait to watch these brand new movies!

The first movie that will be coming out in Marvel’s Multiverse Saga this year is the sequel to Black Panther, called Black Panther: Wakanda Forever. Before the filming process began, the main actor, Chadwick Boseman, passed away from Colorectal cancer, which he had been fighting for four years (The New York Times). This was a hard hit to the Marvel community, and many began to question if his legacy would still continue–the answer was yes. This movie will include most of the actors from the first movie such as Angela Bassett, Leticia Wright, Lupita Nyong’o, Forest Whittaker, etc. Save the date–November 11, 2022–because tickets will be gone before you know it!

The next movie, which is part of Phase 5, is Ant-Man and The Wasp: Quantamania. The last Ant-Man movie, Ant-Man and the Wasp, was released in 2018; over the last few years, they began to make the third project in the movie series. In this movie, Scott Lang, Hope Van Dyne, Hank Pym, and Jane Van Dyne begin to go and explore the Quantum Realm when they suddenly encounter many strange creatures. This movie will come out February 17, 2023, and is bound to be a big hit.

Marvel has even come out with a new TV series on Disney Plus, She-Hulk. This show is about an attorney named Jennifer who was on a trip with her cousin, Bruce Banner (Hulk). During a drive, they got into a car crash, and while trying to save Bruce, his blood got into her bloodstream, making her the new She-Hulk. This show has already come out with two episodes and the next one will be coming out very soon. Junior Tracey Jean Louis expresses that she’s always “excited to watch Marvel to see all of [her] favorite characters, and [she] would like to see how the outcome of these new movies and shows will be, such as She-Hulk.”

Many students are thrilled for these new movies, such as junior Kaya Pierre.“The first Marvel movie I ever watched was Captain America: The First Avenger. Ever since then, I fell in love with all of Marvel,” she reveals. “For every new movie that comes out, I am over the moon excited waiting for it to be released. Now when I watch them, the iconic theme intro always lets me know I’m in for a good one.” Another junior, Alexis Williams, states that she’s “ really excited about the new movies coming out! [She’s] a big Marvel fan and [is] already watching She-Hulk and so far it’s really good.” These new movies and shows are sure to knock your socks off.So look out for all of the new movies Marvel is bringing to the table!
