Every Friday, PPCHS’s National Art Honor Society holds a collection drive where they collect donations for the organization ArtCares for Kids. ArtCares for Kids is a nonprofit organization located in Key Biscayne that serves children who battle with emotional, physical and psychological challenges. They collect art supplies as well as artwork to give to hospitalized children, specifically patients at the Holtz Children’s and Baptist Children Hospitals. The supplies NAHS collects are paint brushes, paint, pencils, crayons, paper, sketch pads, canvases, clark, etc. Students will be able to earn 1 volunteer hour for each item along with 1 club hour.Club president Samantha Villafane hopes this drive will continue to flourish, saying “We hope that next year, once our club has a stronger foundation, we can expand the drive and collaborate with another club to collect more donations.” Make sure to participate in this great event!
