Thanksgiving Food Favorites

   Fall is officially here! The month of November has come and some of your favorite holidays are just around the corner, especially Thanksgiving. Typically, turkey is the star of many Thanksgiving meals, but the feast wouldn’t be the same without some of these traditional side dishes like the honey baked ham, corn on the cob, green beans, mashed potatoes, stuffing, etc. 

   Below are some student responses to a common question asked during this holiday season,

  What’s your favorite Thanksgiving foods and why? 

Corn on the cob is my favorite Thanksgiving food because it is pretty much the only form of corn I eat and it’s absolutely delicious! It’s the one thing I look forward to each year that my grandma makes especially for me. ” -Freshman Katia Borden

“The stuffing is my favorite Thanksgiving food because it’s something my mom would make for me each year. Growing up, the stuffing was always my favorite because I’d enjoy making it with her.  ”-Freshman Leah Miragliotta

“My favorite Thanksgiving food is shepherd’s pie because before I met my cousins, I had an aunt that used to make shepherd’s pie every Thanksgiving. Now it is just a tradition.”– Sophomore Lady Zuriel Ayebah 

“My favorite Thanksgiving food is Russian salad. My mom makes it every year and I usually help her make it. It is a Thanksgiving Tradition that I really enjoy and have lots of fun doing”– Sophomore Victoria Valdivia 

“My favorite Thanksgiving meal food is mashed potatoes because they are delicious with heavy cream and butter. I look forward to eating mashed potatoes at my family’s annual party every year.” – Sophomore Megan Lopez-Ordax

“My favorite dish is mashed potatoes. I always have a great time making it with my mom and it is a part of our Thanksgiving Tradition now!”– Sophomore Mia Olmedo

“My favorite Thanksgiving food is cranberry sauce, especially on a slice of turkey. My cousin makes the best cranberry sauce every year. I can’t wait for this Thanksgiving!” – Junior Diana Angel

Mash potatoes and gravy my mom makes. This is my favorite food because potatoes are my favorite foods that grow from the ground and the gravy is just excellent!”– Senior Jaden Calviero
