Sometimes, stars are not just in the sky, they are also on the field. Quincy Walker has returned back to Pembroke Pines Charter High School for his senior year after spending his junior year at West Broward High School.
As Walker is back, he is ready to aid the Jag Boyz with their road to playoffs.
At the young age of four years old, Walker started playing football, and quit when he was 10. Yet, his freshman year at charter he returned back to the game and fell in love.
Although Walker was a star at Charter during his freshman and sophomore year, receiving player of the game multiple times, he had received the opportunity to attend West Broward High School his Junior year, while being able to also play for their football team.
Yet, this opportunity did not turn out in Walker’s favor, as he explains that “Junior year playing football was my hardest year. I got injured three times and was only able to play two full games.” He ended his junior year with a total of three games played, 15 total tackles, 10 solo, and five assisted.
Losing motivation from injuries, Walker comments that “going into my senior year, I wanted to enjoy my last season with my friends, and return back to Charter, with goals of leading us to the playoffs.”
Back at Charter, after only four games played, on the defensive side, Walker holds 23 total tackles, eight solo, 15 assisted and 4.5 sacks. Then, on the other side of the ball [offense], he holds 48 total yards and nine carries.
This season, Walker has received player of the game two out of the four games that have been played so far. Reaching career highs, in the game against Northeast High School, he held 2.5 sacks, nine tackles, three of them being solo. Additionally, in the game against Coral Springs Charter High School, he held 2.0 sacks, seven tackles, and four of the tackles being solo.
As Walker continues to shine at Charter, he will not stop until his mark is left on the field. Reaching season highs and making history, his story is not done yet.
