That first sip feeling, when the sensation of pumpkin spices begins to swarm your mouth, is unmatchable for the Pembroke Pines Charter High School Jaguars. Even though the leaves haven’t started changing colors yet, the time has come: Starbucks’ annual release of its fall menu.
This year’s menu includes the Pumpkin Spice Latte, the Pecan Crunch Oatmilk Latte, the Pumpkin Cream Chai, and the Pumpkin Cold Brew. Starbucks added two new components to the highly popular menu, which include the brand-new Pecan Oatmilk Cortado and the Italian Sausage Egg Bites. With this exciting menu, here are Charter’s thoughts on the top drinks of the season:
“The fall menu is a little bit about both [the taste and aesthetic] because the fall aesthetic always brings nostalgia, but the drinks taste really good too.” – Anaya Garcia, sophomore
“The new flavors for this menu surprised me in a good way; however, they are almost always the same, and they just come back every season. I rate the whole menu 11 out of 10 because it’s delicious, and I have had [some items] about seven times already!” – Shayna Mortman, junior
“I think [having] Starbucks in the fall season is totally worth it because I’m a Starbucks usual. I’m used to their [original] drinks, so this year’s [new drinks] are sweeter and more pumpkin-like. I feel that, based on how everyone sees the fall menu, buying these drinks during the season is based on the aesthetic, but some people actually enjoy coffee and appreciate its taste.” – Jada Watkins, junior
“As a whole, I believe that the Starbucks fall menu is a tad overhyped; it’s usually a hit or miss. The Pumpkin Chai was one of my favorites and really stood out to me. I would rate the whole menu a seven.”- Kristopher Illescas, sophomore
“I do not think Starbucks in the fall is overhyped; it is totally worth it for sure. I love the fall menu because it brings me back to the good old days of my childhood. The Chai is definitely my favorite item. However, there should always be the possibility for Starbucks to upgrade its menu and add new fall-related items. Drinking from the fall menu makes me feel more in the spirit of the season because South Florida is known for not having autumn weather, so these Starbucks drinks at least make me feel like I’m experiencing a little bit of fall.” – Emily Bello Contreras, sophomore
“The new Starbucks flavors for this fall menu positively surprised me since I usually don’t drink coffee. When I first tasted [one of the drinks], I was put into shock because it was surprisingly delicious.” – Leah Noriega, junior
