“I wonder what it’s like to be famous.” That’s the question that has most likely crossed the mind of any average person. Well, Pembroke Pines Charter (PPCHS) sophomore Daylin Bohler has gotten a taste of life under the show lights. Since she was a little girl, Bohler always loved to entertain those around her. Whether it was singing, dancing, or acting, she would share her talents with her family and friends.
Her aunt, in particular, took notice of Bohler’s passion. “I got started when my aunt went behind my parents’ back to tell one of her agency friends about me and set up an appointment,” she recalls. “And [she] didn’t tell us until the day before so we couldn’t cancel.”
Little did she know, her aunt had just opened the door to many opportunities. After months of castings and auditions, Bohler booked her first commercial with Publix when she was still a sixth grader. This is where she really started to recognize her love for acting.
Since then Bohler has done countless jobs for multiple brands. Along with Publix, she has worked with Five Below, Instagram/Meta, Coco Blanc, and more. She has since stayed in the same agency, “World of Kids”.
Other than modelling, Bohler also has a huge passion for cheer. Balancing these two hobbies has proven to be difficult for Bohler, considering both take up a lot of time.
“Acting and cheer are both extremely demanding of my time so it’s hard to decide which is more important at that moment,” said Bohler.
Luckily for Bohler, she has her family by her side no matter what, helping provide both emotional and material support.
“My support system is primarily my family. They are always there for emotional support whenever I don’t get an audition I worked really hard on and take me to all of my auditions. My dad even bought a bunch of backdrops and camera equipment so my self tapes would look more professional,” said Bohler.
Family members haven’t been the only people helping her out. Two teachers from PPCHS stood out to Bohler; Ms. Benitez and Ms. Zhuravlev. They would both assist her on how to keep up with work and help her understand lessons that she might have missed on a day on the job.
With her family and teachers backing her up, Bohler has shined in the modeling industry, giving her the opportunity to meet with many famous people. One of them she clicked with.
“I got to meet Luna Steeples, who is now a really good friend of mine, who played Dill in The Hunger Games: The Ballad of Songbirds and Snakes,” Bohler said.
While some interactions with castmates create life long friendships, others have become life lessons.
“[With] being an actress, people think that by being your friend when you “make it big”, you’ll bring them along with you. I’ve had to learn the hard way that not everyone is really your friend,” Bohler states.
Overall, trying to balance all these factors takes perseverance and dedication, something Bohler has a lot of. She plans on continuing to model as a career for as long as she can.
