On Mar. 10th Mu Alpha Theta hosted their annual pi bee where PPCHS students gathered to watch their peers recite as many digits as they can.
The atmosphere was pure bliss, as spectators were flushed with the warm scent of delicious pie, as they entered the cafeteria doors. In the first round of the contest, participants had to recite 25 digits of pi in order to advance. Following this, competitors had to make their best attempt at reciting as many digits as possible.
After intense and suspenseful competition, junior Alexander Moyano was crowned champion, bringing home a grand prize of $100. He also received the honor of having his name engraved on the pi bee trophy.
“I feel pretty good about winning, I’d be pretty disappointed if I didn’t win, it would have been a lot of wasted time,” Moyano expresses.
The 2025 pi bee ended as a great turnout for Mu Alpha Theta and with this new school record, the future of the annual tradition is bright.
