Gift-giving can be hard, and the pressure of a huge, extravagant gift can only add to the stress of Valentine’s Day. However, gifting can be easy! It’s important to remember that Valentine’s Day gifts aren’t for show– they’re for your Valentine.
Whether your loved one is sentimental, funny, or even hates the thought of February, it’s possible to find something that brings a smile to their face. With that said, here are some fun gifts to give your loved one this Valentine’s Day!
- Jellycat Plushies
Jellycats soared to fame in 2024 during the resurgence of stuffed animals. These plushies are both cute and silly, offering charms, bags, and full-size animals. Jellycat also carries a Valentine’s Day line perfect for a more holiday-specific gift rather than their year-round plushies.
2. A small, local date
Though movies flaunt fancy, candle-lit dinners and strolls down stunning forests South Florida so lacks, a quick trip to a coffee shop or ice cream parlor can be just as heartfelt, if not more. Sometimes, the best way to connect with your loved one is to throw on some comfy clothes and have a movie night or even bake together if you prefer to stay home.
3. LEGO Flowers
LEGO flowers are a hassle-free version of classic Valentine’s Day bouquets. They are both fun to build and pretty to display in your loved one’s room. LEGO even carries a bouquet of roses, along with other bouquets and individual flowers that can be mixed and matched.
Reagan Koch, a sophomore at PPCHS, said, “I love the idea of LEGO flowers for Valentine’s Day, as long as the person also gets real flowers… The flowers will smell great and be beautiful for a week, and when they start to wilt, the LEGO flowers can be built!”
4. Chocolates
Most people can’t resist this sweet treat– chocolate! This is often given in addition to a bigger gift, but high-quality chocolate can be a lovely gift on its own. Brands like Ghirardelli offer heart-shaped chocolate boxes, while Dove sells bags of chocolate that are a bit more gender-neutral.
5. Clothing
Between popular clothing brands like White Fox and Nike, cozy and practical clothing can be the perfect Valentine’s Day gift. If you’re looking for a more affordable option, you can try your hand at the viral kiss hoodie for a more DIY gift.
6. Something homemade
At the end of the day, the best gifts come from the heart. Maybe your significant other is more sentimental and may enjoy something crafty and handmade. You can make a bouquet of paper flowers, bake heart cookies, or simply craft a card for your person.
“I love homemade gifts. To me, they’re much more meaningful than anything you can buy. They show the person truly cares and wants to put in that effort for you,” said sophomore Kayra Arik.
Whatever you decide to give for this Valentine’s Day, do it with love. Valentine’s Day, despite it being a commercial holiday, is an amazing opportunity to spread love and spend time with your loved one. After all, memories of Valentine’s Day and love are priceless.
