Happy New Year Jags! Welcome back and let’s jump straight into the new year with an update on Jaguar sports!
The Lady Jags on the Prowl
Within the past few weeks, the Lady Jags have gone 3-3. Just before the Christmas break, the Jaguars headed to Pompano Beach and took a 3-0 dub. The following week, the girls varsity team ended the year @St.Thomas Aquinas. A close knit game that ended unfortunately in a loss. The goal came late in the 3rd quarter, which ultimately made the Lady Jags end 1-0.
Starting the new year off with a bang, the Jags headed to Northeast and took a 8-0 win. After going into a triple header week, the Lady Jags fell short to Cardinal Gibbons 4-1. They then faced once again @Doral Academy with the final score of 3-0.
Bouncing back from a 1-2 week, the seniors took the lead against Flanagan this past Tuesday with the final score of 1-0. A day of celebration not only for the win but for the class of ‘25 seniors. Senior Marissa Martin scored the game winner against the Falcons in the final two minutes of the game.
As the regular season comes to a close, the Lady Jags ended their season with the record of 8-5, but these girls are nowhere near done with this season. The district tournament quickly approaches, as they await to see their opponent for the postseason.
Boys soccer protecting the den
Continuing the hot streak, the Jaguars have continued the heat in 2025. The boys varsity team has ended their regular season UNDEFEATED. Just before winter break, the Jags went into Pompano Beach and definitely left the Tornadoes in a whirlwind with an 8-0 win.
Shortly after, the Jaguars made their way to Northeast and gained another dub to their season with a 1-0. Coming into the new year, the Jags continued to protect the den, defeating Cardinal Gibbons with a 1-0 victory. Then, a show for senior night against Flanagan with a 3-0 victory.
To end of the regular season, the Jaguars headed to crosstown rivals West Broward, which they took the 7-0 win. As a record breaking regular season ends, the Jags continue as they are ready to host the district tournament. These Jaguars have protected the den more than ever.
Defending the state title: Boys Basketball
The Jags are nothing short of outstanding, within the past month the boys have maintained a score of 9-3. To end the year with big wins against Coral Glades, Blanche Ely, Northeast, Pace Academy and Mater Lakes. The Jags continue the hot streak in the new year defeating McArthur, Cardinal Gibbons, and Divine Savior Academy.
Going into the last four games of the regular season, the Jaguars play at home. THIS Thursday the 16th, they face off Coral Springs. It is then followed with a game NEXT Tuesday against, ranked NO.3 in the state, St. Thomas Aquinas. The boys varsity team is currently ranked NO.31 in the state and has a record of 11-5.
Shooting for success: Girls Basketball
The Lady Jags have been on their rise as they reach a 10-5 record for the ‘24 season as they go 7-3 within the past few weeks. However, they’ve faced a few challenges as they fall short to Blanche Ely and Northeast. The Lady Jags turn things around as they end off the year with a win against South Broward.
As the new year kicked off the Lady Jags have been UNDEFEATED! They’ve secured their wins against North Miami, McArthur, Cardinal Gibbons, and Coral Springs Charter. Although there are still five games remaining in the season, the Jags are currently 10-5 and 1st in the district.
