Last Thursday, the Class of 2026 held its annual bake sale, an event that has become a staple for the junior student council. Taking place at the school fountain, the bake sale offered a wide variety of snacks and drinks to students and staff.
To spread the word, the council relied heavily on social media and word-of-mouth promotion. Multiple festive flyers were posted on the Student Government Association (SGA) and the Class of 2026 Instagram accounts.
Despite some challenges, such as making last-minute purchases, the bake sale ended up running smoothly. “It was a little chaotic because we weren’t sure we’d have enough food, but it all worked out in the end,” says junior senator Janeyliz Baez.
This was the council’s third bake sale ever, and it proved to be the most successful yet, raising more than $200. Along with raising funds, the event was also a way to connect with classmates and bring some joy to campus. “It was great because we really got to engage with the student body and work together as a council,” Baez explains.
The proceeds from the event will go directly towards the class’s prom funds. The bake sale not only satisfied sweet tooths but also brought the class one step closer to their big event that happens next year.
