Standing undefeated with just two games remaining, Pembroke Pines Charter’s varsity soccer team is chasing history, led by a new transfer who has redefined their season. Undefeated 11-0-2 through the regular season and guaranteed to host the district tournament, the Jaguars can become the first team in program history to finish a season unbeaten.
For a program that boasts four consecutive district titles and last year’s run to the state semifinals, this would solidify its place as one of the most dominant teams in Florida high school soccer.
At the heart of this record-setting campaign is Logan Hall, a senior transfer from St. Thomas Aquinas. Hall’s arrival has been transformative. In just 11 games, he has scored 12 goals and accumulated 8 assists, leading the team in both categories.
His offensive production and ability to elevate those around him have propelled the Jaguars to a state ranking of 13th and a national ranking of 42nd.
Hall’s decision to join the Jaguars came after years of growing up in Pembroke Pines and watching the program grow into a powerhouse.
“I decided to come to Charter because I saw how strong their soccer program was, and I felt like I could be the missing piece to help take them to the next level,” Hall shared. “I also grew up here, so it felt like a homecoming for me. A lot of my friends go here, and I wanted to finish my senior year in a place that feels like home.”
Stepping into a captain’s role in his first and only season with the team, Hall embraced the challenge of becoming a leader.
“My goal has been to help this team grow closer as a family, and I feel proud of how far we’ve come. I believe we have what it takes to finish the season undefeated and bring home the fifth consecutive district title. It’s in our hands; we just have to stay focused and keep working hard.”
Returning players, motivated by last year’s heartbreaking state semifinal loss, have rallied around Hall’s leadership and the collective goal of securing not just a fifth district title but also a deeper run at states.
“His presence has truly elevated this team in every way” said Junior Noah Lewis, a center-back and promising talent. “He’s the kind of teammate who connects with everyone and makes you feel like you belong.”
Head Coach Marc Lue Young also praised Hall’s impact, noting how it speaks “volumes of his character” and calling Hall’s presence nothing but a “positive impact.”
Despite Hall’s impressive stats, he is quick to credit his teammates for their support. “It’s a team sport, and I don’t owe it all to myself,” Hall said. “Shoutout to everyone who’s helped make this season possible, from the players to the coaches. This is something we’re all building together.”
Aiming to leave the Jaguar Den with a message. “I want to show that even in just one year, you can make an impact,” Hall said. “I haven’t been here as long as some of my teammates, but I’ve put in the effort to contribute and help us succeed. Hopefully, that effort is something the team and program can remember moving forward.”
As the Jaguars prepare for their final two regular season games then postseason, the team remains focused. Despite the hype surrounding the success of the season, Head Coach Marc Lue Young emphasized the team’s grounded mindset. “I believe the players do a good job by focusing on one game at a time,” he said.
“Achieving an undefeated season would be a great accomplishment for the players and coaches alike,” Lue Young added. “It would mark the first time in program history that we’ve gone unbeaten through the regular season. But the ultimate goal is to carry that success into districts, regionals, and states. We know what we’re capable of, and it’s about continuing to execute.¨
Together, propelled by new talent like Hall, Jaguar soccer is chasing history.
