Jarad Anthony Higgins, also known as Juice WRLD, created an impact that fans are saying may never be seen again. When it came to helping those who suffered from anxiety or depression, he would use his music to send a message that no one is alone.
When he passed on Dec. 8, 2019, fans and close friends were shaken. However, his team has released multiple posthumous projects for a few years now, and has recently released his last studio album, The Party Never Ends.
“Juice would uplift his fans by giving them music to get through the negative or mental health problems they had going on in their life,” states senior Edwin De La Paz. This is why when it was announced that his last album would be released, many fans were emotional. For Juice WRLD fans, it wasn’t just being a fan of another artist, it was being a fan of someone that wanted to improve themselves mentally, but going through issues that made it difficult.
It was not easy to see an artist who isn’t alive officially release their last album. The Party Never Ends debuted number four on the Billboard charts with 93,000 album sales sold in the first week. “I enjoyed the album very much,” Senior Alessandro Alcerro comments. “It sounds and feels just like his older music.” Even with some mixed reaction from the public, this tracklist brings nostalgic Juice WRLD vibes, which is just what his community craved.
Juice WRLD was a significant figure in the music industry, indicating that he reached legendary status to his supporters. “999 is to take whatever bad situation, whatever struggle you’re going through and turn it into something positive,” says De La Paz. 999 represents completion, closure to anything bad someone is dealing with. His community spreading the number 999 everytime Juice WRLD is brought up. Although he is not here, people will never forget who he was and what he shared with the world.
The Party Never Ends rollout for the album and the project itself was nothing short of an epic experience. “This album was a good way to conclude his music career” Alcerro expresses. With Juice WRLD being who he is, and the impact he brought, the party will never truly end.
