Fundraising for any type of club is important, especially at Pines Charter. Students want to be able to lead and participate in activities that benefit the community. Not being able to receive money from donors or not being able to give exposure to your club doesn’t help achieve this. So, in order for clubs to grow their associations in school, there are a variety of locations that can be relied on.
Student Parking Lot
Sometimes the best place to hold a fundraiser is right on school grounds. Senior Haris Khan, the president of the Car Club, explains, “The best place is the student parking lot. It’s a nice open area where you can set up many activities.” Khan admires the parking lot because after school many students tend to hangout in the parking lot, for example, groups of friends will play dominoes, spikeball, basketball and many other games. With ambitious goals this school year, he hopes to find success in holding many different events.
Khan’s goals are much higher than just holding many events, he plans to raise 1-4k for alternative fuel research. This would help improve the environment because it would reduce emissions of carbon dioxide and other greenhouse gasses released by many vehicles. For the car club, emphasizing the importance of raising money to make the world a better place, is a huge factor for promoting this association.
Football Games
Another pivotal factor in promoting a club is doing it for a greater cause. Senior Fiona Findley is one of the three main leaders at Relay for Life and has many different experiences in fundraising. “Football games are so tight-knit, as it brings together the student body and their families, and even the faculty,” Findley shares. The emotional aspect of a football game definitely brings people together.
Sporting events will draw a crowd, but Findley finds fundraising at a football game a much more exciting experience. With this, they hope to raise about $12,000 this year. “Students can help by attending events, sharing our cause on social media, and even creating their own fundraiser,” Findley explains. With just a little bit of a student’s help, can bring us closer to saving many, many lives.
Chipotle
Clubs must promote themselves to people who may not know anything about Charter, so getting support from outside businesses is vital. Going to a popular place like Chipotle is perfect to increase exposure and to receive funds. Senior Ava Mendez, who is currently a part of nine clubs and is president of the Class of 2025, claimed that Chipotle is the place to go.
“The best fundraisers outside of Charter are definitely the Chipotle fundraisers,” comments Mendez. “Many people eat at Chipotle.” With the grand attraction to this place, also comes a great fundraising opportunity for many PPCHS clubs. The goal of picking a place such as Chipotle is to make sure that the environment is enjoyable. With this, the goal of growing Charter’s clubs each day is possible with the attraction to these outside organizations.
Vaniglia & Cioccolato
Many students love ice cream and sweet treats. This means a variety of students make their way from Pines Charter to Vaniglia & Cioccolato that hosted a fundraiser to support Class of 2025. These types of places bring a large amount of attraction which is sure to bring a lot of people to support.
Fundraising always comes with a purpose. “Many people showed up and we were able to earn lots of funds for our senior class,” Mendez exclaims. With many activities coming up for the PPCHS senior class, promoting many associations here at school can fulfill those senior-year dreams.
The best places to have a fundraiser can vary from inside Charter grounds to outside locations with the goal to support all the organizations found at PPCHS. As the Jags continue to work together to continue promoting their causes, the future’s looking bright for the clubs at Charter!
