Welcome back, thanks for tuning in for the first week of winter sports!
The Lady Jags on the Prowl
Coming into the first week of the regular season, the Lady Jags went 2-0! Heading into Cowboys territory, the Jags defeated Cooper City 1-0 on WEDNESDAY November, 13th.
Shortly after facing cross town rivals West Broward @HOME on THURSDAY November, 14th. A slow start to the match but just minutes before the half, Sophomore Madison Connacher scored to bring the Lady Jags up 1-0. Creating chances for the ball to reach the back of the net once again, Senior Marissa Martin was able to increase the lead. Ending the first home game with a 2-0 win.
Going straight into the second week of the season, the Lady Jags face the Nova Titans AWAY, MONDAY November 18th. This brings back another W with The Lady Jags record hit 3-0.
As the Lady Jags head up against the Cypress Bay Lighting, a tough match is anticipated as the Jags haven’t beaten the Lightning since the ‘21 season. This will occur @HOME TUESDAY, November 19th. Cypress Bay striked first but just five minutes later sophomore Madison Connacher scored from a beautiful pass from junior Cata Castro.
Unfortunately the Lady Jags fell short at the end as the Lighting came back to score in the second half. The Jaguars record now stands at 3-1. Junior Goalkeeper Madison Casanova with over 10 saves. Heading into the fall break, the Lady Jags hope to bounce back as they make their way to Monarch, December 2nd.
Boys soccer protecting the den
The Jaguars have been definitely protecting the den as they have created a four game winning streak. At the same time, they have only allowed one goal in those last four games. Firstly, facing off Cooper City AWAY, the Jags came back with a 3-1 win.
Following up their win, the Jags faced off the South Plantation Pladians AWAY and took another 2-0 win. Going into the third week of the season, the Jaguars went insane @Nova taking home yet another win but with an 8-0 score. To close off the last game before thanksgiving break comes the Jags won once again but at HOME with a 3-0 win against Cypress Bay.
Defending the state title: Boys Basketball
Packing in for the new season, the Jaguars started off hot @HOME THIS Tuesday November 19th. Facing off Stonemen Douglas, the Jags demolished with the final score of 75-30. A dominating game with Senior captain Max Oretga having a total of 16 points.
Shortly after the Jaguars headed to Western Wildcat Territory THURSDAY, November 21st. A close game throughout all quarters that eventually ended in overtime. The Jags fell short with a 51-48.
The Jaguars look ahead to facing Dillard THIS Tuesday, November 3rd. This would start their season 1-1.
Shooting for Success: Girls Basketball
The Lady Jags have started their season off strong @HOME on November 19th. This would put us against Stoneman Douglas, but ends with a victory to 46-31. With Junior Madison Ojeda putting up 16 points but right behind her 7th grader Khalia Sprouse with 11.
Heading into the second game of the season, the Jaguars went to Wildcat territory facing a tough 52-27 defeat. The Lady Jags home to bounce back as they play Archbishop McCarthy @HOME MONDAY, December 2nd.
Then, THIS TUESDAY and THURSDAY December 3rd and 5th the Lady Jags face off against Dillard and Mater Lakes Academy. As the season just begins, there are high hopes for the rest of the season.
