On Thursday, November 21, members of the Journalism Honor Society gathered in C117 to celebrate National Journalist Day. About twenty members attended the meeting, and it was led by the officers, junior president Janeyliz Baez, junior vice president Eri Fatimlehin, secretary Lizbeth Manoj, and historian Lian Lee.
During the meeting, sweet treats and sodas were passed around while the officers discussed the purpose of National Journalist Day and emphasized the critical role of journalists. National Journalist Day was celebrated around the world on November 17, bringing attention to the important role that journalists play in society. There are many fields in journalism, all of which are critical to society. These fields range from investigative journalism to sports journalism, which help keep the public informed about current events affecting their daily lives.
