As the new school year continues, there are things we have to leave behind, like this year’s girl volleyball season. This team had many wins but also some losses throughout its season. Their final record was 13-9.
The Lady Jags won against teams like Flanagan, Coconut Creek, and Everglades. However, they lost against Cypress Bay, Archbishop McCarthy, and the one that cost it all, Lourdes Academy.
On October 16, 2024 the Lady Jags played their first playoff game against Hollywood Hills, which resulted in a 3-0 win.
Soon faced cross town rivals Archbishop McCarthy just the next day, which ended with an unfortunate 0-3 loss. The Lady Jags still had more games to go, winning their next game, against Dr. Joaquin Garcia on the 23rd, 3-2.
On October 26, 2024, the Lady Jags were on their way to what turned out to be their last and final game for the 2024-2025 season. They played against Lourdes Academy which ended in a 0-3 loss. This game ended their season for the rest of the school year.
Although the team had a pretty good season overall there are still many things that could be worked on getting started for next year’s season.
Talking with junior and outside/right side hitter Lila Peterseil, about what she believes the team could work on getting started for next season she stated, “Next season I think we need to continue to grow and learn how we all play so that the team has good chemistry which makes a good team a great one”.
On the other hand, despite having lost in regionals, the Lady Jags volleyball season has brought many exciting and new memories for new and returning players.
Peterseil stated that her favorite memory with the team this year were the bus rides. “There was never a dull moment from the coaches in the front to the players in the back. The whole bus ride, no matter the length, was full of laughs and fun,” stated Peterseil.
This has been a fantastic year for the Lady Jags volleyball team and an unfortunate loss during regionals. The Lady Jags will continue to grow and rise next year for another great season.

You can tell the volleyball team worked hard this season. They tried their best and won many games and the ones they didn’t they still gave their best!

I liked this story because it really showed the ups and downs of what this years volleyball season was like. How they can improve for upcoming seasons is also good to see in story like this so maybe other’s planning on trying out next year can know what’s expected.
