The Indian Student Association (ISA) brought vibrant colors and festive cheers to their Celebration of Diwali this past Monday. Students gathered to decorate traditional clay lamps, known as diyas, which symbolize the triumph of light over darkness.
ISA members provided the paint, brushes, and clay diyas, to which they encouraged participants to express their creativity through the art of painting. Additionally, faculty members such as Mr. Capiro, Ms.Velez, and Ms. Battle came to partake in this event to not only connect more with the clubs at Charter, but also further learn about the holiday itself.
Afterall, Vice President and Junior, Divyya Sathiaseelan, stated “The purpose of this event is to bring awareness about the holiday and show that we can all come together and celebrate.”
