Welcome back Jags! Let’s go straight in for the last couple of games recap!
Jag Boyz get back on home field
The Jaguars haven’t been able to play on home turf for almost six weeks. From rain delays to unexpected hurricanes, the Jag Boyz have had their last two home games rescheduled. Our Jags having their “Minion Mayhem” game rescheduled to LAST Monday 9/30 @HOME vs. Miramar turned to the Jaguars second loss of the season.
The Jaguars faced a tough 44-0 defeat LAST Monday. Our Jags looked past a tough loss and got a bounce back for LAST Friday’s HOME game. Bringing their tropical spirit to win a nail biting 29-28 HOME WIN for the Jag Boyz. Heading up against the Nova Titans for their sixth game of the season the Jaguars came up victorious, once again.
Adding to their now 4-2 record, star player Senior Brandon Clement scores the game winning point in the final two seconds of the game. Clement went for almost 150 total yards.
More leading players for the Jag Boyz on Homecoming night
- Senior Dylan Williams with 9 tackles
- Senior Justin Navarro with 10 tackles
- Sophomore Trent Bessing tallying up a total of 230 yards
JV Football continues the hunt
Our junior varsity football team took on Archbishop McCarthy Wednesday, October 2nd which ended in a tough game with a close score of 28-25. Due to Hurricane Milton, the Jaguars game against the Nova Titans was unfortunately canceled. They hope to add another victory NEXT Thursday, October 15th.
Lady Jags Securing the net
Lady Jags have been lucky when it comes to cancellations due to weather as they were able to play all scheduled games. We left off our Lady Jags drafting the Cooper City Cowboys. This soon started the Jaguars 3-1 run in the last three weeks.
The ladies took over against Everglades 3-2, Tarvella 3-0, and Piper 3-0. They only came up short against Cypress Bay in Lightning territory. They continue to go headstrong with an 11-7 record, as they soon approach their postseason.
Swimming to Success
Our Jaguars started off the month of October with multiple cancellations due to Hurricane Helene and Milton. This WEDNESDAY 10/16, our Senior swimmers were celebrated for their last home meet. Going up against the West Broward Bobcats, the Jaguars dived straight into their winning ways. Senior Abraham Penaloza went 3 for 3 in all his events, with a top performance in his 4 x 100 freestyle within 51 seconds.
Running to the Finish Line
The Jaguars cross country team has been nothing short of exceptional these past few weeks. In the midst of the hurricane, both girls and boys showed out at the Spanish River Invitational. The boys placed 2nd overall.
With continuous momentum, the boys finished in first place at the BCAA cross country championship where they were up against over 25 other schools in the county.
Special shout outs:
- Senior Alejandro De Batos winning NO.1 overall
- Sophomore Adam Stewart NO.4 overall
- Senior Aiden Johnson NO.6 overall
